V1 Peel Body: The First of Its Kind Chemical Peel Specifically for Your Body
Our face often gets the most attention when it comes to skincare. We slather on creams, serums, and other products to delay the signs of aging or address skin concerns, including acne, dark spots, scarring, and dullness. The rest of the body is often overlooked, even though it is also affected by the same skin dilemmas.
A medical-grade chemical peel like the VI Peel can improve or address these concerns. What it does is remove the skin’s damaged layers and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It is commonly used on the face, neck, and chest, but it now comes with a solution specifically designed for the body: VI Peel Body.
The Difference Between a Facial Peel and a Body Peel
Body peels are much like facial peels, but are stronger and penetrate deeper. This is because the skin on the body isn’t as thin or delicate as that on your face. It only means that it can take on higher-strength formulas with higher percentages of active ingredients
Facial peels, meanwhile, are less powerful, mainly because they are intended for delicate and sensitive areas. They are commonly used on the face and neck areas and mostly penetrate the epidermis or the top layer. It causes the skin to peel off to reveal a healthier and more radiant complexion.

Why Would I Get a Body-Targeted Body Peel?
Thicker skin – The skin on the body is not as delicate as the skin on the face; it is two to three times thicker. This only means that it isn’t ideal to reuse a traditional facial peel that only penetrates the skin’s outermost layer. It is likely to have a less penetrating effect on certain areas of the body.
To create true corrective change on the skin of the body, the natural skin cell turnover cycle of the face and body is different. It takes 28 days for the face and about 70 days for the body. So, to create visible changes and results, the chemical peel for the body needs to penetrate the dermis and speed up the peeling process. It also must work on all skin types and tones.

Special Additional Instructions for Specific Conditions and Body Areas
Keratosis Pilaris
- Keep skin moisturized with Post Treatment Repair Cream for the first 7-10 days.
- Use warm water and limit bath time, as hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from the skin. Limit bath or shower time to about 10 minutes or less. Use warm, not hot, water.
- Be gentle to the skin. Avoid harsh, drying soaps. Vigorous scrubbing or removal of hair follicle plugs may irritate the skin and aggravate the condition. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot the skin with a towel so that some moisture remains.
- Maintain results with a Retinoic Serum to help loosen and remove dead skin cells. Put this product on before moisturizer.
- For Fitzpatrick 4, 5, and 6 skin types, a pigment-suppressing agent should also be included in the home treatment regimen. A hydroquinone product safely and effectively suppresses excessive pigment.
- A humidifier may help, as low humidity dries out the skin. A portable home humidifier or one attached to your furnace will add moisture to the air inside your home.
Tinea Versicolor
- Avoid direct sun exposure during the treatment regimen. UV-light exposure will heighten visible discoloration.
- Incorporate a Retinoic Serum and 4% hydroquinone product into your at-home regimen for maintenance of results.
Acne/Acne Scarring
- Avoid extrinsic irritants listed above during the post-peel phase.
- We suggest using a Lotion Applicator to ease the application of Retinoic Serum on the back. These are commonly available on Amazon.
- For those who exercise frequently, we suggest showering immediately after.
- Incorporate at-home products, including Vitamin A, Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide to maintain results.
Hyperpigmentation/Dyschromia
- Avoid hot water when showering or cleansing skin. Only cleanse with lukewarm water during the post-peel phase.
- Avoid any exfoliation on the treated area, including topical products, scrubs, and waxing, for 2 weeks after peel application.
- Incorporate a Retinoic Serum and a 4% hydroquinone product into your at-home regimen to maintain results.
Stretch Marks and Scars
- Avoid hot water when showering or cleansing skin. Only cleanse with lukewarm water during the post-peel phase.
- Avoid any exfoliation on the treated area, including topical products, scrubs, and waxing, for 2 weeks after peel application.
- Incorporate Retinoic Serum and Skin Lightening Complex 4% HQ into home regimen for maintenance of results.
Underarms
- Avoid waxing for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment and 2 weeks post-treatment.
- Avoid deodorant during the post-peel phase.
Bikini Area
